Isaac is twelve and has joined the crew of Captain Cook's ship Endeavour, sailing to Tahiti to map the transit of Venus, and then onwards to search for the Great South Land. Over the months on board Isaac forms an unlikely friendship with the Goat, on board to provide fresh milk for Cook and his officers. It is a friendship that will last through shipwreck, bushfire and illness, a friendship that helps in the discovery of exotic new lands. Suggested level: primary, intermediate, junior secondary.
